Alejandro Fiszman, J.D.
I am a Canadian tax litigator who spends much of my practice helping people with CERB, CRB, CRSB and CWLB repayment demands. From second reviews and internal appeals to full judicial reviews in the Federal Court of Canada, I work to make sure the CRA applies the law fairly to your real-life circumstances.
In COVID-19 benefit files, I focus on the details: I obtain and analyze the CRA’s internal notes, compare them to the legislation and case law, and then negotiate directly with the Agency or, when necessary, ask the Court to step in. I have extensive experience preparing and arguing Federal Court applications, and in using that process to reach practical settlements with the CRA.
My background in finance (B.Comm, University of Ottawa) and law (J.D., Windsor) helps me quickly understand income patterns, self-employment issues, and lockdown-related disruptions. I speak plainly, keep you informed at each step, and aim to resolve your dispute with as little stress as possible while protecting your long-term tax position.
